sweets for my baby

Posted on October 11, 2006

I had my monthly pre-natal check-up last Friday. I was reprimanded by my doctor to take it easy, with food. During my check-up before this, I gained 6 lbs in 4 weeks and last Friday’s check-up revealed that I gained 7 lbs in 5 weeks! This means cutting down on sweets. Awww….

hi andrea,

it may be frustrating not to eat the food you like most these days but it will definitely put you and the baby in good condition during your pregnancy… kasi ako when i was pregnant i was very careful with the food i take esp. sweets and carbo but when my OB asked me to have my urinalysis, the result revealed that there are traces of sugars in my urine kaya i have to go through several tests. To cut the story short, i have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, although it is quite normal (daw) for pregnants to have their blood sugar rise kasi the changes in our body affects the insulin absorption of our body (something like that… :)) Anyway, i’m telling you this para everytime that you feel “bad” kasi di mo nakakain ang gusto mo, may maiisip kang magandang reason to justify your “little sacrifice” for your baby and for your health also. Kasi ako, dumating sa point na i need to inject insulin just to control my blood sugar kasi habang palapit daw ang due lalo pang nagiging uncotrollable yung sugar. Anyway, di kita tinatakot… its just that i’m giving you some precautions. Mabuti na yung nag-iingat… :) God bless!
