Kathy - You can try din to be a SAHM! Hehe, naghanap pa ko ng karamay. Dami ng work-at-home
opportunities dyan ;) Lagi rin ako nagvi-visit sa blog mo for olin updates. Kakatuwa kasi
same age sila ni Mateo e.

Litzie - Kaya mo yan! :) Sarap magbreastfeed. Good luck!

Hey Andrea. I was supposed to comment on your post but the BF topic caught my eye. I also gave birth at St. Luke's and they encourage me to breastfeed. I guess depende sa staff nila, lucky me whenever I visited the nursery kasi naadmit din si Dustin for a week, they always encouraged me to try breastfeeding kahit pa mahirap. When I went home and left Dustin sa nursery Hubby would bring my milk at kahit konti nag yun nakikita ni Dee na binibigay naman nila kahit naka-syringe nga eh. I still don't have enough milk right now though. Hehehe. Yan pa rin ang dilemma ko.

Noemi: I guess all our children will always be perfect for us. Good genes or not ;)

Julie: I have a guy friend who has a lousy family name (Dimarucut). We used to tease him to
just use his future wife's family name instead. Unfortunately, his gf has an equally lousy
family name :D

I don't know why health issues didn't occur to me. Come to think of it, it should be more
important than looking good :)

One of my friends commented years ago that one of the requirements for choosing a husband would be having a good family name, aside from being intelligent and good looking. I asked her why? She said she would roll in her grave if people laugh at the name written on her tombstone.

I think one of the things people consider before they get married is to know if there are any, if ever, health-related problems in the future spouse's family, be it physical or mental. I know of several who seriously consider this.

Pinayhekmi:
No problem, comments are welcome whether about the post or not ;) Anyway, the hospital I gave birth to is actually one of the very good ones here in the Philippines (St. Luke's). I think that sometimes though, some of the employees themselves don't feel that strongly about breastfeeding. During my stay, when I asked one of the nurses there to call me from my room when it's feeding time. I don't know whether she forgot or she just didn't bother. However, when we came back for a repeat of Mateo's newborn screening, I met another girl there who was so willing to ask me how I'm doing with breastfeeding and was telling me to lay off the formula. Hehe!

We're doing great with breastfeeding now. Mateo takes in only 4-6 ounces of formula milk now. I'm proud to say I did it all on my own. I read on it during pregnancy and I was dead-set on breastfeeding but I guess the whole experience can be very overwhelming. One needs more than determination. Everyone around you should be very supportive. Although other people around me weren't, my husband was.

Naku, parang isang post na un nasulat ko. Hehe! Anyway, good luck to you too! :)

Hello, there. This is off-topic but I have read through your archives. Being an expectant Mom has me very interested in little babie's progress like your own. I've read a lot about your breastfeeding difficulties.

Based on the hospital experience you had, insisting on feeding your baby formula, I concluded that you may not have had adequate support with breastfeeding. That's too bad. The hospital I am going to encourages breast-feeding and has lactation specialists on hand. The painful experience you've been having, I don't know if its been resolved but here is a good resource on how to latch properly. The proper latch ensures that your nipples won't be so sore and painful for you. Hope it helps and good luck on your beautiful, bouncing, baby boy!

Andrea,
It's a good thing you didn' have to go your last resort plan. One of my requiremts of the father of my child was the head for math. I was barely passed my Integral Calculus but I want my child to do better. Aesthetics counts-so true. People treat beautiful people differently, that's just a fact of life. I was impressed by my hubby's 4.0 GPA and he loves math. My little K is now exhibiting her good grasp for numbers ;).
