I've always wanted to be a hands-on mama. As young as high school, I would mull over what kind of work I could do that would still give me ample time to spend with my children. It's because of this that I initially went into teaching, I figured teaching is the kind of work that lets you do part-time. Looking back, I guess everything feel into place according to my plan and God's plan because I am now a hands-on mama and a part-time teacher.
During the first two weeks after I gave birth, we stayed with my parents to be able to adjust easily to the new addition to our family. After the second week though, despite my mama's protests, we went home, eager to try out being parents on our own. From then on, our everyday life would basically consist of Ramil going to school during the day while Mateo and I will be left to ourselves at home.
Ramil and I tried to divide the household chores between the two of us. He'd help with the laundry and cleaning when he's at home. I feel that I was trained during times when only Mateo and I are home. More than once, I've thought of how nice it would be to have some household help. A lot of times, I had to do a lot of things while holding Mateo. It would have been even nice if I had something like a Clapper Plus, it turns any appliance on or off. God knows I've had trouble managing small things like these when it was just me and Mateo.
Now everything is so relaxed at home. Ramil and I get to spend more time with each other. We are also less stressed! It's all because we have yaya Cat with us now. She is our household help whenever we're home and Mateo's yaya when we're not. She has made life so much easier for us and we will not trade her for any gadget out there
i agree, having another helping hand in the house would really help!
@gail – We were actually hesitant before getting her. We felt defensive towards any form of intrusion into our family life. We’re so glad now that we decided to give it a try!
Yaya Chat is so blessed to have you as well….
@wickedlysexy – I think she also appreciates us as her employers so we’re both really lucky!
