getting a payday loan

My sister was asking me the other day about loans. Having had experience with these, both good and bad, I gave her some tips and advice. According to her, she would sometimes find herself strapped for cash a few days before payday, as is the case with a lot of people. She would sometimes borrow some money from our mom to compensate for her shortage and then pay her back when she gets her money on payday.

A lot of people have had this dilemma at least once in their working careers, I think. I told her that she could always get a payday loan whenever she finds herself needing some cash. There are a lot payday loan companies that offer payday cash advance series. When I mentioned this to my sister, she said that they have a cash advance facility in the school where she works. It just never occurred to her to try it out. Next time she needs a little money, I guess she knows where to get some already.

nothing will be spared…

…from Mateo’s playful little hands. I’ve been browsing through some of his pictures and I’ve realized that we’ve captured quite a few pictures of him tinkering with whatever thing he can get his hands on. Having a baby can be a nightmare for an immaculately-kept house. Nowadays, with him roaming around the house, walking (few steps on his own or holding onto furnitures) and crawling on his knees, nothing seems to be out of his reach. Once he sets his sight on something, he’d think of ways to get it whether he needs to ease his little body in small spaces or bravely climb up anything to reach his goal. Just watching over him the whole day can be pretty tiring.

Mateo and Happy

Mateo loves my stuffed dog Happy. He’d always automatically go for the dog’s nose every time he sees it. This dog was a first monthsary gift from Ramil last April 2000.

He enjoys removing the clothes from our laundry basket and putting them inside again. On days that we would do our laundry and the basket is empty, he likes ‘riding’ inside it while I push him around.

He also has such varied expressions whenever he is tinkering with something.  Our baby is really growing up fast! :)

doggie love

I’ve been raised in a household that always has a dog. I can’t remember a time when we didn’t have a dog as a pet while I was growing up. We’ve had more than ten dogs. There was even a time when we had four dogs all at the same time. I guess that’s why I grew up loving them too. Our dogs have always been a part of our family and I’d like to think that they feel or have felt the same way about us.

Ramil also grew up in a household that always has a dog. Like me, he’s a dog-lover too. Now that we have our own family, we’ve often thought about getting our own dog. We would have been interested in a Yorkie puppy for sale if only Mateo is old enough to be responsible for a pet. We know we’ll have our own dog someday, it’s just a question of when. Maybe in a year or so, when Mateo can be taught how to take care of one already.

testing…

It’s test time once again for my students. Little do they know that I am as nervous as them even though I’m not the one who’s going to be taking the test. Ever since I started teaching, I’ve realized that a test is not just for the students but for the teachers as well. Although it tests how much the students have learned, it also tests how much the teachers have taught their students. So now I’m nervous and excited at the same time. I’d like to know whether I taught them much and whether I taught them well. I hope I pass with flying colors too. :)

valuing education

With Mateo growing up, Ramil and I can’t seem to forget about our desire to pursue further studies. We believe that the way to instill the value of education in your children is to put value in it yourselves. All the information we’re getting about capella university is making us think about our plans again. An online university would definitely make them a possibility. The thought of going to school again even though it’s an online one, is kind of exciting. Being teachers ourselves now, I think we’ll both be better students. Hehe! For those who would also like to do further studies, age is definitely not a factor! With the presence of online universities like capella, time shouldn’t be either.

my other half

I was tagged by Mai.

1. His name:
Ramil
. We both have a short single name. No second names for us, that’s why I initially thought of giving our son a single name too and let it be just Mateo. However, I didn’t want him stuck with just one name so at least now he has a choice. Hehe! :)

2. How we met?
Ramil was my classmate in Grades 3-6 and 4th year HS. It would be an understatement to say that I never thought we’d end up together. Read more about our story here.

3. Characteristics of Ramil:

  • Funny. Anyone who knows him would definitely agree with me. A day never passes that I don’t get a good laugh because of him, gives my life such joy.
  • Smart. I don’t want to sound mayabang but after having to sometimes feign ignorance while I was with an ex-boyfriend (not to mention conversations that don’t stimulate me), I vowed never to get into a relationship with a guy less intelligent than me. LOL.
  • Honest and open. He’s always been very open with me and it’s one of the reasons why our relationship work.
  • Loves to eat and sleep. The love for eating amuses me most of the time. The sleeping part matches mine.
  • A gentleman. Even when we were still just friends, this is one of the things that I admire about him. He never fails to treat everyone, most especially women, with respect. I hope Mateo will grow up to be like him.
  • Homebody. Another thing that made us a good match is our fondness for staying home. Ramil has never been a gimik guy and ever since we had Mateo, staying home has been more appealing than usual.
  • Patient. He is a very patient man to be able to put up with me. LOL.
  • Takes good care of us. He has always placed me and Mateo first. He is a family man in the truest sense of the word.
  • Loving. He’s not the kind of guy who shows his love with gifts and all. He would often make me kilig with his lambing though. He has always made me feel so much loved with words and actions.
  • Good with kids. I can say that he’s one of the most liked teachers in school and that says a lot about how good he is with kids.
  • and a lot more…

I’m not tagging anyone but feel free to snag this :)

flattered post *blush*

It feels nice to be called sexy and beautiful by somebody other than my husband, LOL. Litzie, an equally sexy and beautiful gal, gave me these two awards that totally tickled me pink.

Thanks a bunch Litzie dear! And I’m giving these two awards to all the mommies out there! Because being a mommy means being sexy and beautiful :)

a hearty appetite

Before I got pregnant, I had a hearty appetite. I’m not a heavy eater but I’m not a picky eater also. I am one of those who go for small servings but eats several times throughout the day. I usually don’t have just three meals a day. I’d have snacks in between. When I got pregnant, my appetite got close to my husband’s. I’d eat more times and bigger servings too! I would often use my pregnancy as an excuse. After giving birth however, the appetite I got used to for nine months stayed with me. I had trouble containing my voracious appetite. Thank goodness I was breastfeeding, I was losing pounds despite all my eating. For some people, their appetite cannot be controlled that easily. Some cannot be controlled by a diet but might even need Lap band. The procedure is the least invasive weight-loss surgery available and has helped a lot of people lose weight. What happens is surgeons position a band around the upper portion of your stomach, making you eat less. For those who have weight-loss problems, this just might be one of your better options.

christmas away from home

I grew up knowing how difficult it is to celebrate important dates away from your family. My dad would often be working abroad during birthdays, christmases, new years, and other special occasions. Usually, we’d settle for sending greeting cards to each other. When I got older, I’d buy my own greeting card for my dad. I remember taking a lot of time choosing the card to give him. How I hope I knew about The Gallery Collection then. Aside from personalized greeting cards, they also make Corporate Christmas Cards. They even have a great affiliation with Soldiers Angels this year. They just donated a greeting card to be sent to each soldier that wishes them Happy Holidays and Happy New Year and says thanks. Additionally, they’ve also donated a blank card and envelope so they can write home too. I’m sure those soldiers will appreciate it very much!

just me and my baby

That’s how it’s going to be next week. The new yaya will be leaving on Thursday, with or without replacement. Ramil and I wants her to go already since she claims to be pregnant. We wouldn’t want anything happening to her while she’s with us. So next week, it will just be me and Mateo. Good thing it’s the school’s 2nd trimestral test next week, I don’t have to go to school. Yipee! I’m looking forward to testing and challenging myself once again. I just hope Mateo chooses to be a good little boy next week. Hehe!
