my coin collection

Posted on November 10, 2007

I used to own a coin collection. My coin album has coins from many different countries, countries that my dad have been to. You see, my dad is a seaman and every time he'd visit a country, he likes to bring home several coins from that country. When I was old enough to start the coin collection, he gave me this round can that was almost full with coins. So I bought a coin album and sorted the coins according to each country. I remember wishing that my collection has more rare coins in it, like a silver dollar or other limited edition coins. The album is pretty heavy compared to the usual albums, with the number of coins inside it. I've tried showing it to some people and some were pretty much intrigued and impressed. It was nice seeing some different weird designs that some countries come up with for their coins. Some coins are really heavy while others feel like a cheap piece of metal.

As of now, I don't know what became of my coin collection. Last I remember, it was in my box of old things that I left in my parents' house so I don't really have any picture to show for it. I better look for it when we visit so I can share some pictures. Not to mention that I can probably update it. It would be nice to show Mateo when he gets a little bigger. I'm sure he's going to like it. Maybe he can even add more to the album :)
