our little 10-month old

I can’t believe Mateo will be turning a year old in just two months! My baby will be a toddler already. To celebrate his 10th month, Ramil and I just bought cake which was mostly eaten by me (and I claim I am on a diet). Our little boy ate some too and I told Ramil we should have bought a small birthday candle to start practicing him.

Speaking of his 1st birthday, I initially planned an extravagant overly-planned birthday party. Then I realized that really, it might be over-rated for a 1st birthday party. I realized that I will be doing that just for the enjoyment of the guests and not really for Mateo because I doubt that he would appreciate everything that I have in mind. I don’t want to spend for something that expensive and then Mateo would barely even remember it. I told Ramil that it would even be more reasonable to spend that much buying stuff for Mateo instead of throwing a big party. So I’m postponing it until he’s older (maybe next year or when he turns 3). It doesn’t mean there won’t be a party!

We’ve decided to have a swimming party instead. It’s added bonus that my mom offered to pay for the rent of the place. There’s a private place near my parents’ house that can be rented. It has one adult pool and one kiddie pool. What I liked the most are the air-conditioned rooms because it means that Mateo will be totally comfortable the whole day. So instead of a big party that will last for a few hours, we will go swimming for a whole day. Also, my MIL has agreed to do some cooking there too so I’m guessing there will be a lot of food. The only problem is that some guests might not be able to make it in Novaliches. Well, I know however we will celebrate our first born’s first birthday, we will make sure to make it very special for him.
