reclaiming my lost love

Posted on January 4, 2008

Nope, I’m not talking about an ex-boyfriend :P I’m talking about my love for the piano.

I started taking lessons when I was around nine years old. We didn’t have an actual piano then, all we had was a keyboard that my dad brought home from Japan. My lessons were actually on and off for several years and I stopped altogether when I reached high school. Nevertheless, I continued playing the piano. It served as my stress reliever. I’d often feel relaxed after a few minutes of unwinding on it. My passion for it grew when my mom decided to buy us a real piano. I loved beating on the heavy keys and hearing the sound reverberate as my foot presses on the pedal.

Unfortunately, I haven’t played in a long while, ever since I moved out of my parents’ house. Ramil and I don’t have a piano in our house and I don’t really have time for it whenever we visit my parents. Lately though, Mateo has been taking an interest in it too! He’d eagerly reach for the keys whenever he sees the piano open. I’m thinking of rekindling my love for playing the piano so that I can better share it with him. I’ve been checking out Piano lessons & piano chords on the internet to help me get back into shape. I’m loving Playpiano.com! They offer free piano lessons email newsletter. Hopefully, I get my groove back with the amount of piano resources at my disposal. Who knows, my son might grow up to be a piano master :D
