Mateo is 1!!!

I can’t believe it’s been a year already! Whew!
Mateo turned one yesterday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BABY!!! I still can’t believe that my baby’s officially a toddler already
We celebrated yesterday by hosting a dinner for some friends and co-workers. Mateo had lots of fun going around the house and making pa-cute to the guests. Ramil and I chose to have an intimate celebration instead of a big one after much confusion among different family members on how to celebrate Mateo’s birthday.
I initially wanted a grand celebration because I’d get all excited planning for his birthday. Hehe! After doing some thinking and computing, I realized that we cannot really afford that kind of celebration right now. I also realized that Mateo would enjoy his day more if he celebrated it in his comfortable environment without getting overwhelmed with a lot of people. My sister, on the other hand, wanted a party even if it’s a small one in Jollibee. So we thought of having a pool party instead. However, when my mom inquired about the place we were supposed to rent, it was booked on the Saturday after Mateo’s birthday (which is on January 19). The next available weekend date is on January 27, which I felt was too far from his birthday.
There was also the issue of who to invite. Our families and friends are based in Quezon City while our co-workers are mostly based in Antipolo. Having a party in QC would exclude the Antipolo people while a party in Antipolo would exclude the QC people. After almost stressing over the whole thing, Ramil and I decided to just have a small gathering in our house in Antipolo. It’s not for us nor the guests anyway, it’s for Mateo.
After letting Mateo enjoy his day yesterday, my parents will also be treating us to an overnight relaxation in Canyon Woods Tagaytay on Saturday. It seems that Mateo will get to swim somehow
We plan to let him enjoy Canyon Woods and Tagaytay. I just know we’ll all have a blast! It still doesn’t end there though, my sister is also planning a ’shopping spree’ for him a week after the Tagaytay outing. We plan to bring him to Trinoma for a Gymboree class (which he enjoys A LOT) and then my sister will have a shopping spree for him. I think Mateo’s birthday just got stretched several weeks.
I still plan to give him a grand celebration in one of his future birthdays - if he wants to
