weekend cleaning

Posted on April 13, 2008

I love weekends. We used to visit our parents in Quezon City during the weekends and it provides a break for Ramil and me. Lately though, we’ve taken to staying in our house to cut down on our gas expenses. We never realized that it will also be just as fun and relaxing. It’s still a break even though there are no grannies to take over Mateo. Most of the time, I take the opportunity to clean the house. Yes it’s a chore but a relaxing chore for me if I take it in stride. There’s nothing like the feeling of peace after seeing how clean our house is. Rugs and floor mops don’t stress me out. Instead, they provide me with an activity that could help me relieve stress. Of course, we also do a lot of lounging around and doing nothing during weekends. I just hope weekends like these spill over until the schoolyear starts.

Do you use the Swiffer?

I’m looking for ways to keep my ‘fake’ wood floors cleaned.

I have a 3 year old that LOVES to drop food on the floor for the dog.

We don’t have a dog.

I envy anyone who say that cleaning is a relaxing chore… I mean, of course I get to relax more if our house is clean but it’s getting it that way that really depletes the purpose of the weekend for me. :(

Hi Heidi! My mom is the type who obsesses over how clean the house is. Guess I got a some of it from her :) There was a time when I tried just relaxing and doing nothing during a weekend. The unclean and disorganized house stressed me so much more! LOL. So now what I do is I just relax while cleaning, I don’t pressure myself to clean everything. Once I finish an area of the house, I get to relax.
