Ramil and I bought new running shoes last Saturday, I’ve been meaning to get myself a pair because I wanted to start running again. Although I’ve thought of taking diet pills that work countless of times, I’ve decided to try exercising first. I just hope I have more than enough willpower to continue the exercise regimen that I will start. Now excuse me, I need to wake up early tomorrow.

an insured future
Ramil and I have long been planning to get some life insurance quotes from some agents we know. Since I used to work in the insurance industry, I fully understand how important it is to have insurance. Now that we have Mateo, the need for it seems all the more glaring to us. When it was just the two of us, Ramil and I lazily put off getting ourselves insured. When we became parents however, Mateo’s future became too important to put off. Hopefully, we get to follow through with this plan of ours soon.
a dream house
Ramil and I would sometimes get jealous of other people we know who have just gotten their own house or is about to get their own. Even though we’d love to check out different real estate markets like the Wilmington real estate, we still don’t have enough savings for it. Right now, all we can do is to dream and to plan. Hopefully, we can boost our savings so we can make our dreams and plans a reality.
starting a hobby
My brother recently found my old coin collection. He was intrigued by it and asked me if I still wanted it. I was suspicious at first, thinking that he might want to sell it or something. It turned out that he got interested enough to ask me if he can have it so he could add to the collection. He’s thinking of going a bit further by including rare coins in it. I told him that he needs to have certified coins for that. My old coin collection merely consisted of different coins from different countries. I encouraged him to go for it and that I would support him in his endeavor. Although I have doubts as to how big his collection can, it’s still worth a try.
business update
My mom has been handling the store that she and my dad started a few months ago. Only her and a helper are the ones handling it ever since my dad left last April. It’s been such hardwork for her but she’s bent on making it work. She’s looking for more things to add to the store like more chairs and tables. While in the mall the other day, she say a patio furniture that she really liked. Unfortunately, the price wasn’t reasonable enough. She’s willing to buy it for their house but not for the store. I’m expecting her to ask us to do some driving for her these next few days and to assist her in some furniture shopping. Time to look for some myself
shoe shopping
I haven’t bought myself good shoes in a long time. Last week, I bought a pair of white jelly shoes for only 79.50 pesos at SM Hypermarket. To say that I bought it because of the price is quite right. Hehe! They feel as comfortable as Dansko shoes but barely made a dent in my budget. But for the longest time, I’ve been wanting to buy a good pair of running shoes. So when I learned of the Adidas and Nike Clearance Sale in Megamall’s Megatrade Hall this weekend, Ramil and I were more than eager to go. He was able to get himself a comfortable, blue and white running shoes for only 1695 pesos. I think the original price was around 3000 and was on sale at 40% off. He liked it so much that while having our lunch, he decided to put it on and wear it for the rest of the day. I, on the otherhand, was able to buy a nice pair of green and gray Nike Free running shoes for only 2000 pesos! The original price was around 4000 pesos and I got it at 50% off. I also bought a Nike yoga mat for only 500 pesos (50% off). I wanted to buy Mateo his first Nike shoes too. Unfortunately, nothing for him was on sale. Our purchases hurt our budget real badly and we’re going to need to forgo a lot of things in the next month so we can pay for our purchases. Nevertheless, we went home happy shoe shoppers.
I’m your host
Pardon the delay, we’ve had problems with our internet broadband for several days and I wasn’t able to go online. Anyway, I’ve got the winner for the free hosting contest that I started. And its… Mai! Congrats Mai! Send me an email so we can talk about it
. So that’s the result of my first online contest. I wish to be able to offer better prizes next time like maybe cartier watches?
I also like joining online contests since they’re usually very easy to join not to mention that the prizes are usually things that I like or maybe some easy paypal money. I’ll think of coming up with another contest soon. Hopefully, more people join the next time around.
love for balls
Ever since Mateo was smaller, he loves balls more than any other toy. We first introduced him to a small bag of soft balls. It has a basketball, a football, a soccer ball, and a baseball. He loved them so much that he’d call anything round a ball. ‘Bah’ is his first word aside from ‘dada’, even before he was able to say ‘mama’. Even heavy golf balls would interest him.
Ramil has dreams of making him into a ball player, be it a basketball player or a soccer player. Until now, balls are a weakness for Mateo. When we went to Bora last March, Mateo refused to step foot on the sand. Only a soccer ball being played by another one of the hotel’s guest enticed him to do so. He’d willingly go with anyone who has a ball for him and a ball could stop tantrums.
A few weeks after his first introduction to balls, we introduced him to toy cars. Although he was intrigued by them, especially by the wheels, his interest for balls in unmatched. He has a lot of different toys now but he would always have his fondness for balls. I guess in this case, first love never dies huh?
‘contest’ extended
I’m extending the free hosting contest I started last week. I was supposed to end it today but I totally forgot about it, LOL. And since only a few people have joined so far, I’m extending it for three more days. I’ll be drawing the winner on Wednesday. Stay tuned
free hosting!
Do you want your own domain? Are you blogging on a free blog-hosting platforms like Blogger, WordPress.com, Tabulas, LiveJournal, Multiply, Friendster, etc? Would you like to have a blog that would let you earn more?
Then blogging on your own domain, with a paid hosting account just might be right for you. Getting your own domain is pretty easy but a hosting account can be pretty expensive, with maybe $4 per month = $48 per year. Last year, I bought a 2-year hosting account that could host as many domains as I want. I use only a small portion of the disk space and the bandwidth considering that I only have 3 blogs in it.
So here’s the deal… I’m offering hosting for 1-year, FREE! What do you need to do to get it? Simple:
- Write a blog post about this and link to my site. Also, include something in your post about how blogging has affected your life as a mother (if you’re a mommy) or simply, how blogging has affected your life (if you’re not a mommy).
- Leave a comment on this post with a link to your post to let me know.
I’ll be doing a raffle of the names of those who joined next Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 10:00 am so all comments and posts should be in by then. The winner should have his or her own domain. Winner could easily buy his or her preferred domain. I will be hosting that domain for free for a year. I will only use wordpress though because I don’t know other free blog platforms, hehe!
I think this would be ideal for those who are only just starting to explore the idea of blogging on their own domain and yet do not want to spend too much for it. Or for those who simply have too much ideas for a blog and would like to start another one. Or for those who would like to transfer their existing blogs to their own domain. So what are you waiting for? Write that post now!
