To Do List tag

Litzie tagged me with a to-do-list. I used to have a post-it on my desktop for my to-do-list. I’m one of those who likes to be organized by listing down things I need to do. It brings me great pleasure to be able to cross out items on my list. So before lounging around this weekend, here’s my to-do-list for next week:

  1. Finish the academic budget for trigonometry, which I’m going to be teaching this coming schoolyear.
  2. Finish a total of 6 SMOs (subject matter outlines): 1 for Grade 6 Math, 2 for Year 2 Algebra, and 3 for Trigo (and I’m supposed to be a part-time teacher :D ).
  3. Finish at least 2 pages of Mateo’s first year book. I’ve only finished layouting the first 10 pages, wah!
  4. Upload new themes on this blog.
  5. Fix my photoblog.
  6. Clean the bathrooms.
  7. Change the bedsheets.
  8. Get a list of drug rehab center that neighbor’s son could get into.

There are several more I can think of but I don’t want to risk getting overwhelmed and not doing anything at all. Haha!

Show me your list… Kathy, Jeng, Jenn. If you’d like to do this too, feel free to snag it.

BUSY PEOPLE: 1.) my chopsuey 2.) mind bubbles 3.) vanity kit 4.) somethingpurple 5.) a detour 5.) Confessions of a Supermodel Wannabe 6.) Mommy Talks. 7.) Aggie Shoots. Aggie Scraps 8.) Winding Creek Circle 9.) Pink and Brown Diaries. 10.) My BIG Picture. 11.) crazy mama

summer sickies

A lot of people in school are having colds, cough, or worse, the flu. The crazy weather the past few days has wreaked havoc on everyone’s health. Lately, it would be unbearably hot during the afternoons but then it would rain on late afternoons or evenings. An NC health insurance would be ideal right now. It pays to be ready for any kind of sickness. It would be so much worse if you get sick and then you don’t have money to see a doctor or to bring yourself to the hospital. Even though prevention is always better, it also pays to be ready for any eventuality.

upgraded to wordpress 2.5.1

Ever since I started blogging on my own domain last year, I didn’t upgrade my wordpress install. Last week though, something crazy happened… my blog got hacked.

My initial reaction was, why? Is my blog worth hacking? I found out that the wordpress version I was running (2.2, yep that old!) had many security issues and that it’s not unheard of for blogs still running this version to get hacked. The first thing I did was to back up my databases and then decided to just do a fresh install of the new version of wordpress. Here’s where I found myself with a big hurdle. Updating my databases was easy enough. Wiping my hosting account clean of all files was also hassle-free. I didn’t realize though that it’s not as easy as installing a new wordpress version and uploading my old databases. I had to install the original old version and then upgrade the whole thing since my databases need to be upgraded too.

After hours of installing, uploading, and upgrading, which I had to do several times by the way, my blog and Ramil’s blog are finally back online. I have yet to fix my photoblog though and I still want to install new templates on this one. After the whole ordeal though, I’ve realized that I have a huge amount of disk space and bandwidth just sitting there and not being utilized. So I’ve thought of cooking up something and offering FREE hosting for a year. To those who want to have additional blogs hosted on their own domain, I’ll be posting the details on Saturday.

the husband (& wife) tag

Got this cute tag from Mai. I had fun answering this. Hehe!

1. How long did you date?
Hmmm, if my memory serves me right, our first date was a movie at SM North sometime February 2000. Nope, it wasn’t a valentine date. We’re both not valentine people. Grabe, I can’t even remember the title of the movie. Haha! :D

2. How old is he?
Just turned 27 last April 24.

3. Who eats more?
No contest, he does.

4. Who said “I love you” first?
He did. I can’t remember the date but it was a Tuesday.

5. Who is taller?
He is, by a mere inch. Haha! Good thing I hate high-heels.

6. Who sings better?
Ask anyone who’s heard him sing and they’ll say that he’s a good singer.

7. Who is smarter?

Hmmm, this one needs a lot of thinking… Haha! I’d say I’m smarter but I’m sure he’d say he’s smarter. I guess it’s safe to say that I’m glad I married someone who’s at least as smart as me ;)

8. Whose temper is worse?
During my sister’s speech/message on our wedding day, she said something like ‘… ate, ikaw ha… kasi pag galit ka galit lahat e…’ I’m a scorpio, he’s a taurus. Anybody who’s familiar with zodiacs would get the picture, hehe!

9.  Who does the laundry?
When we were newly married, he used to do the laundry. Then we thought that since there’s only the two of us, why not bring it to a nearby laundry shop. Then a few weeks before I gave birth, I decided to stop going to school and teaching. Doing the laundry was good exercise for me then since I’d do squats. When we got a household helper, we finally got rid of this chore. Haha!

10. Who does the dishes?
Our rule used to be… ‘if one cooks, the other does the dishes’. Again, when we got a household helper, we got rid of another chore.

 11. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?
Me.

12. Who pays the bills?
I do but I get the money from him.

13. Who cooks dinner?
Most of the time, I do the cooking.

14. Who drives when you are together?
He’s the driver.

15. Who is more stubborn?
I guess we both have our ways of being stubborn.

16. Who kissed who first?
I’d say him but I also think it was something that just happened.

17. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong?
Please see number 15. LOL.

18. Whose parents do you see the most?
Mine.

19. Who proposed?
He did.

20. Who is more sensitive?
Definitely me.

21. Who has more friends?
Since we’ve been friends since grade school, through high school and college, and we also teach at the same school now, we have the same set of friends. So I guess it’s a tie.

22. Who has more siblings?
I do, a sister and a brother. He has only one brother.

23. Who wears the pants in the family?
He does but I like to borrow it sometimes, LOL.

I had fun answering this tag. Feel free to snag it if you want ;)
