coming home again

My dad will be coming home again in the next few weeks. We’re excited because after three years, he’ll be spending Christmas with us again. The only drawback that I’m seeing is that we won’t be able to use his Revo anymore. Everytime he’s away, my mom lends us their Revo because she doesn’t know how to drive and she doesn’t want it just sitting in the garage. So Ramil and I are making plans to have our old red car fixed. It was having problems with its brakes before we temporarily stopped using it. We also need to ask for auto insurance quotes so we could renew its insurance as well. I’m almost dreading riding our red car again after being so used to a big, spacious car with good airconditioning for several months. Oh well, it just makes us want to buy a newer one for us also.

Christmas shopping

We just bought the first gifts we’re going to give this Christmas and it’s for none other than our little boy. Mateo loves the Backyardigans and when I saw Backyardigans beanie babies on sale online, I knew we found our Christmas gifts for Mateo. I really hope we can give gifts to a lot of people this year. It would be great if I could get some jewelry for the two grandmothers and some tools for the two grandfathers. If only we have a lot of money, I’m sure Ramil would be ecstatic to buy a replacement for his four-year-old laptop and I sure would love to get my hands on a DSLR. At the rate we’re going however, Ramil and I might have to settle for a hug and a kiss from each other. Haha!

hairy reflections

They say that a woman’s hair is a reflection of her current state. Some women would get a haircut or whatever whenever they’re undergoing some emotional challenge in their life. There are times when I myself would go to a hair salon because of a disturbed emotional state. But there are times when I just want a haircut. These days, I find myself looking at my hair in the mirror more often. Aside from the fact that my hair badly needs a new cut or style, the stressful work life we’ve been having these past few days is making me want to go to a hair salon. Since I couldn’t decide on a particular style and I’m not up to spending for one right now especially with the online shopping I did the past few days, I did the next best thing.

Okay, I had a good hair fix right there. I feel better now ;)

the easy way to travel

A lot of people I know are now buying motorcycles or scooters. With the price of gasoline, more and more people are looking for other ways to travel to save up on gas costs. One of the more popular options are motorcycles or scooters. Ramil actually thought of jumping on the bandwagon when he cooly suggested buying a motorcycle for us. He was talking about Harley parts with a friend the other day and it further fueled his desire to have his own way to travel. I am adamant about not getting one for him or for anyone I know because of the high rate of accidents involving these single vehicles. Hopefully, we won’t have the need for it anymore.

back to school

Ramil is currently taking up nine education units. He enrolled in an online university last May and he’s almost done for the first semester. It was really difficult for him being back in school. Even though he only physically went to school whenever there’s an exam, after not being a student for more than five years, he’s adjusting to being one again. It’s more difficult this time around because aside from the demands of being a student, he still has to meet the demands of being a teacher. Nevertheless, it’s so much more convenient to enrol in an online university. These online universities like Capella University, provides so much more options for people to pursue their studies, especially people who have work. He studies based on his own pace and time. He realized that he only need to learn to discipline himself more so he can budget his time between work, studies, and pleasure.

my guitar boy

Ramil is a very musical person. He has a great voice and he can play the guitars really well. Blame it on him that Mateo learned the word ‘tar’ even before he learned most words. He’d often cajole his Dada into playing the guitar for him while he sings along. Sometimes he’d also try to worm his way on his Dada’s lap so he can ‘play’ the guitar also. Because of this, the mamu (my mom) bought him a small wooden guitar. Nowadays, he’d often play his own guitar and whenever he sees Ramil singing some songs and playing the guitar, it’s a must that he’d get his guitar too.
