Mateo loves swimming

We stayed at Chateau Royale in Batulao, Batangas when we went to Tagaytay last weekend. The place is really nice especially for families.

I like their log cabins, very spacious and has lots of cabinets for the things of guests. We were able to take a dip in their swimming pool even though it rained. We had some sort of accomplishment when Mateo took to the water all by himself.

Even though we didn’t pig out during the weekend, I think I gained a few pounds because of the bumming we did. I might as well consider taking diet pill, haha!

birthday weekend

Ramil turned 28 last Friday. We had a small cake-blowing on the eve of his birthday where Mateo did most of the blowing.

Mateo even opened our gifts for his Dada.

We could only sit back, watch, and be amused. I believe it was a very childlike birthday celebration because of our little one. We were very busy the next day and just had some birthday dinner at Shakey’s in SM North. Again, Mateo extremely enjoyed it as if the birthday dinner was for his birthday.

The following day, we set for Tagaytay where we planned to spend the weekend and attend a friend’s wedding. All in all, it was a tiring but good birthday weekend celebration for my husband. We left a lot of work at home because we didn’t want to pressure ourselves looking for wifi just to research on Mesothelioma lawyers. I was glad for the weekend even if we are a few thousand pesos poorer because of it. Hehe!

the no-diet diet

I am a futile ‘dieter’. I’ve never been very successful at going on a diet. With my decision to stay home, I’m anticipating weight loss because I won’t be tempted by delicious snacks prepared by the school nutritionist and I will be having more strenous physical activity with all the housework I have to do. Nevertheless, I still wish to lose around ten pounds even with my recent decision not to diet. There were times in the past when I didn’t need appetite suppressants nor lessen my food intake and yet I lost weight. I just have to find the right amount of physical activity.

red car for sale

Ramil and I have decided to sell our trusty red car. We’d love to buy a new one but we don’t have enough money for it. Although we’ve discussed the advantages and disadvantages of selling our red car, we figured to cash in on its value now, low as it seems, before it gets any lower. Hopefully, we’ll be able to save enough to add to the proceeds of the red car so that we can buy a newer car. Still, it’s a bit refreshing not to worry about car insurance and maintaining it. If you’re interested and would like to know more about the car, please email me at andrea_adolfo@yahoo.com. Thanks!

tagaytay get-away

We’ll be having a mini vacation this coming weekend in Tagaytay. A co-teacher of ours will be having his wedding in Tagaytay on Sunday morning. We’ve decided to take advantage of the trip and go to Tagaytay early Saturday morning. I’ve scouted for some accomodations for us and we’ll be staying in Chateau Royale Sports and Country Club. They have several facilities we could use so we’ll have something to do. I hope the accomodations are nice and that their swimming pool is clean. I need to finish many tasks before the coming weekend like the household chores I need to finish, the articles I need to write and proofread, and some insurance lead generation information that my brother is asking for. Hopefully, I get to finish everything so that I can have a relaxing weekend.

yeeha!

One of Mateo’s favorite Backyardigans episode is Riding the Range. So when we went to La Meso EcoPark last April 4 and saw the horses there, it was a must that he try to ride one of them. Meet Mateo and his horse Clinton:

He enjoyed the ride even though he only rode the horse for around three minutes before he asked to go down. I ended up riding the horse just so to get what we paid for. The horse is a bit small for me so it was a good thing those taking care of the horses give them horse supplements. Nevertheless, I also enjoyed it. Haha!

Days and weeks after, he would still sometimes blurt out something about riding the horse or would sometimes ask me again for the name of the horse he rode. I find it cool that he’s not afraid of almost any animal that he sees and I know he’s going to love horseback riding again.

summer weddings

If Ramil and I didn’t get married on a cold December, we would have gotten married on a summer day. Aside from being safe from rains, one of my dreams is a beach wedding. I’ve been reading on riviera maya destination weddings and my dream to have a beach wedding is somehow rekindled. I have now taken it upon myself to convince my sister to have a beach wedding instead or to ask Ramil to marry me again on a beach. Hehehe! It certainly doesn’t help that we’ll be attending more weddings in the next few months. The third best thing I can have is to attend a close friend’s wedding on a beach. Unfortunately, I haven’t received any invitation to a beach wedding. Oh well, I can aim for our 25th wedding anniversary.

golden retrievers pups, anyone?

Our 3-year-old golden retriever gave birth to 6 puppies (3 males, 3 females, all live births) last March 1. We are still looking for homes for 2 pups (1 male – 11k, 1 female – 13k). They can go to their new homes as soon as April 20, after they’ve received their 5-in-1 vaccine. By that time, they’ve also been de-wormed twice. They also come with PCCI registration papers. For those who are into red marks, the mother (our dog) has 24 red marks on her paper while the father has 18 red marks on his.

The puppies are very cute, cuddly, and adorable. Some info on golden retrievers:

  • They are ideal as family pets because they are friendlier and more mild-mannered than other dog breeds. Safe even for small kids.
  • They are big dogs (around 20-24 inches at the shoulders) so they could pass off as ‘panakot’ dogs despite their friendliness.
  • They love the water and they are great swimmers. (We always bring our golden retriever to the beach and it’s always fun having her along)
  • They are very intelligent and can be trained to do many tasks or tricks.

We would have loved to keep all 6 puppies but the economics of keeping all of them will prevent us from doing so. If you are interested please contact me at 0905-3520231 / 0917-8553947 or you may shoot me an email. Here are more pictures:

the proud mommy

the taste of freedom

Starting today, I am officially unemployed and yaya-less. After days of cramming all my paperwork, I am finally free! Free to watch TV, read books, and I finally get to try Facebook’s Pet Society. Apart from these, I start doing the laundry again, along with all the other housework that the all-around yaya used to do. Ramil gets two weeks off also so it’s going to be a lot of family bonding for the three of us. We plan to have a lot of activities that hopefully, would require no money at all. Hahaha! We might be spending a lot of time visiting my parents also. My brother is undergoing sales training so almost no one stays in my parents home. Mateo will be getting his golden retriever puppy by the end of April so that’s another thing we have to prepare for aside from getting him ready for school this June. We’re anticipating many changes this coming months.
