wedding memories

Ramil and I find ourselves attending more weddings these past few months. Still, we have more weddings to attend in the months to come. It’s fun to take note of the different wedding details in each wedding and we sometimes find ourselves wondering about some details even before the wedding.

We get a kick out of experiencing different wedding venues and getting to try out the food from different caterers. It’s equally fun to speculate on the photographer/videographer they hired or the wedding favors they plan to give out. There are so many details in a wedding that the couple has to decide on which makes their choices all the more interesting.

Among the many weddings we’ve attended, we’ve received small towels, bracelets, candle holders, glass decors, mini-cakes, and many more as wedding favors. Some are more memorable than the others and every couple try to give out favors that would let guests bring home memories of their special day. If you are about to get married and can’t decide on your wedding favors, below are some tips to help you decide:

  • Unique – The more unique your wedding favor is, the better chances of it being cherished by your guests. The most different favors are also always the most memorable ones.
  • Useful – Sometimes guests love the favors so much, they would try to bring home more than one. Most of the time, these favors are the useful ones. Unfortunately, if the number of wedding favors is just exact for the number of guests, some of the guests might not be able to bring home any if there are over-eager guests getting more than one.
  • Edible – This could fall under the characteristic of useful as well. Guests would also sometimes try to get more than one because they can eat the favor later.
  • DIY – Favors that are made by the couple themselves are the most thoughtful ones. The effort and time put in making the favors give them special meanings.

Regardless of the many details of a wedding, Ramil and I are always grateful for being invited and having the honor of sharing the couple’s special day.

still planning our own home

We’ve been planning to get our own home for the longest time. Hopefully, all our plans turn into a reality soon. We’ve planned even the tiniest details that we want for our home. We’ve even scouted for affordable fixtures for our house. Since I was particular about how our kitchen and bathrooms should look, I get to decide on the design. I was inspired with the porcelain vessel sinks that I saw online. They have double bowl stainless sinks for as low as $94 and porcelain sinks for as low as $49. This means that I get to spend more on other details of the kitchen and bathrooms. It makes me even more excited to put our plans into action.

hazards of a motorcycle

Ramil owned a motorcycle for around half a year. He sold it last August to prepare for my pregnancy then. Ever since he sold it, he would from time to time lament selling it. He’d sometimes say he misses riding it. I was a bit relieved actually when he told me he’s ready to sell it because it eliminates the need for a pleasanton motorcycle accident attorney. The roads and drivers here in the Philippines actually make it very hazardous for motorcycles. At least now, I would have peace of mind knowing he’s not putting himself in any danger.

postponed 2010 plans

This year, Ramil and I have made several plans for our family. It seems that God has His own plans because he has thwarted all of ours :) Right now, just barely a month before the end of 2009, He has once again proved that His will be done. Our 2010 plans has just been totally changed. We don’t mind though because maybe we need to learn to trust Him more.

What He has in store for us just might put our April 2010 vacation plans on the back burner. Ramil and me have been craving to have a real family vacation, just the three of us. We are not after Outer Banks vacations. All we’ve been planning for is a quick local getaway. I guess we’ll have to wait for another year or two before that plan is put into place. Or who knows, God might actually still give us that family vacation.

wedding plans

The wedding we’ll be attending tomorrow will have a garden theme and their colors are green and yellow. Unfortunately, the colors don’t look good on dark-skinned people like me, haha! It’s a good thing that Ramil does not have to wear a tuxedo shirt because the guys are only asked to wear barong. Since the wedding is far from where we’ll be coming from, I’ve decided to have myself made up before leaving Manila. I’ve initially planned on doing it myself but changed my mind yesterday. It would give me a little peace of mind knowing that someone quick and professional would do it instead.

another tagaytay wedding

caleruega

Ramil and I will be attending another Tagaytay wedding tomorrow. We’ll be candle sponsors as well. I’m actually excited because we’ve decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary in advance as well. Unfortunately, I have a big pimple on the right part of the bridge of my nose and there’s no time to get any acne treatments.

We’ll be leaving Mateo with my parents and we’ll come back for him on Saturday. It has been a while since we’ve had an overnight get-away on our own and it will be our last chance before the next ‘phase’ our family will be in.

work hunting

I’ve recently let go of several online work I’ve been handling. After the miscarriage, I felt the need to rest and just take it easy for a while. But lately, I’ve been scouting again for additional work to augment our income. I’ve been seeing many online work opportunities in SEO, data center services, encoding work, and many more. However, I’ve been particular about not having to keep a regular work time. So I’ve been discarding offers that require me to be online for a specific number of hours or for a specific schedule. Hopefully, I get lucky in the next few days.

shopping for Christmas

Ramil and I have decided to scrimp more this Christmas. We’ve reduced our Christmas list to our immediate family and friends. Since our list is really short, we haven’t crossed anything yet off it. I planned to check out some deals during the Black Friday sale but we were to busy to do any minor online shopping. There’s also the Cyber Monday special which I could use for buying gifts for the techie ones on our Christmas list. I just really hope that our meager budget would be enough for our short list. We still feel Christmasy anyway, with or without gifts.
