reality wedding video

Our wedding videographer Buddy Gancenia uploaded a part of our wedding video in his website. You can view the uploaded video here. For those who have plans of getting married in the near or far future, we highly suggest Buddy! Here’s a testimonial we made for his website:

Buddy is one of our best suppliers. Even before the wedding, we knew that he would deliver well. Ramil and I just love his reality videos – sobrang natural and personal. We were even more ecstatic when he offered to make us an AVP, woohoo! Sobrang wala lang nung nagshoot kami nung AVP kaya we were so surprised that it turned out the way it did. Most of the good comments we got from guests were because of Buddy’s AVP. Sabi nga ng mga friends namin, it was a perfect touch, it made our love story more real even to those who don’t know us very well. Dun pa lang sa AVP alam na namin na we got our money’s worth.

When the wedding video came, we already knew it was going to be great! Na-capture ni Buddy lahat ng gusto namin maalala sa wedding namin. We’ve watched the video several times already, we couldn’t get enough of it. What’s so nice with Buddy’s work is hindi pare-pareho un dating ng mga videos nya. Naka-customize sa personality ng couple kaya talagang personal. He made us feel very comfortable in front of the camera kaya we can say na the video captured the real us.

If we would get married again, we would definitely get Buddy again.

The jologs in us

The verdict is out… I admit, there’s a jologs in me.

One of Ramil’s must-haves for us before we got married was a TV and cable connection. The expenses of the wedding got us only as far as scouting for a nice TV that we would like to buy. So without a TV, there goes cable connection. As a result, we had a month of watching DVDs on the laptop just to exercise our eyes every night. Then one day in January, while we were visiting my parents’ house, I caught sight of one of our smaller TV’s just sitting on top of a cabinet. I grabbed the opportunity and asked my mom if we could borrow it until such time that we can buy our own. That was the start of our late nights – not because of anything romantic but because we would stay up until the last telenovela.

Watching these telenovelas are proving to be very addicting. We found ourselves eager to go home just so we will not be able to miss anything. We started thinking that we don’t really need cable after all because we have Princess Lulu and Pinoy Big Brother. Standards really change when you’re married already. We don’t really miss going to Greenbelt to watch movies because that’s just partly an excuse anyway to be with each other. So for Ramil and me, it’s okay to be jologs. Anyway, we’ll be jologs together ;)

Two months of being a wifey

On the phone with a home spa operator:
Operator: May I have your full name po?
Me: Um, Andrea Adolfo… (2 seconds pause). Ay, Herrera nga pala, sorry!

While watching a Maalala Mo Kaya episode about a lesbian:
Me: Ganon pala un pag tomboy. Di ako maka-relate. I’m sooo not a lesbian!
Ramil: Um, me asawa ka na?

While having one of our usual conversations…
Me: Ny, pag mag-asawa na ba tayo… (2 seconds pause again). Teka, mag-asawa na nga pala tayo.

To say that it’s difficult adjusting to my new civil status is an understatement. These conversations happened yesterday, a day before we were officially 2 months married. Feeling ko minsan magboyfriend pa rin lang kami at uuwi pa rin ako sa bahay namin one of these days, hehe! I wonder how long it would take before I would be the one correcting people from Ms. to Mrs. or from Andrea Adolfo to Andrea Herrera. Until that time comes, I think I’d like to delay the adjustment from being a honey to being a mommy.

Flowers Speak…

For all the w@wies and other soon-to-weds out there…installment ang supplier ratings ko ha.
First on the list is Flowers Speak by Cathy Gancenia. She is definitely one of my favorite suppliers! Even before the wedding, sya na isa sa faves ko. She and I really get along really well, which I think is a must in getting any supplier. The quality of her work is unquestionable. She has a great eye for the flowers that would look good together. I really loved the bouquet she made for me. She was able to make it exactly the way I wanted it:

This is the picture from a magazine that I gave her.

These are pictures of the bouquet she was able to make for me.

O di ba, galing! Ganda ng bouquet ko…. :) I almost wish I could preserve it. She made all the entourage bouquets and church flowers. Hindi talaga nya ko tinipid sa flowers and she gave me a very reasonable price! Here are more pics of the entourage bouquets.

a wedding kwento

I guess the best thing that I did that day was to enjoy myself, which can be difficult since most brides tend to still worry themselves with the wedding details. Well, I almost became one of those brides because the night before the wedding I was really stressed (not to mention I stressed out Ramil too!). We were up until around 1 am doing the seating arrangements. He kept telling me not too worry and that everything would be perfect. My bestfriend had to call me a control freak to finally get me out of my frenzy. Good thing people around me were very helpful considering that I didn’t hire any coordinators!

Well, of course, the wedding for me was perfect with the help of my bestfriends. It was definitely a dream wedding for me. Most of the people that we expected to come were there. Ramil and I felt like we just breezed through the whole thing. After 10 months of preparation, the wedding details really didn’t matter much. Though it was nice to hear guests commenting about the details, hehe! It was a very emotional moment, well, for me at least. A lot of people also really liked the part in the ceremony where Ramil and I recited the vows that we made for each other. It was surreal going through the whole thing. Up to now, I still can’t believe I’m married! And more than a month after the wedding, Ramil and I are on our own and enjoying our life to the fullest!

Tada… I’m back as Mrs. Andrea Herrera

Well, the title says it… I am now Mrs. Andrea Herrera. After a looooooooong time that I haven’t posted anything, I’m finally back. The blogger in me has been trying to claw its way out for the past few months but the teacher in me is too busy doing tests, grades, lesson plans, and activity sheets. Hehe!

Since I am no longer a soon-to-wed, I’ve decided to change this useless wedding blog into well… just my blog. But before saying farewell to anything and everything wedding related, I feel the need to post an account of the wedding day itself and of course, a supplier review for the other w@wies out there. I promise it won’t take months before I post that… :)

A non-update

Nada.

That’s what we have done for the past 2 weeks. After getting my shoes, finding THE RING, there was NOTHING. It’s not like we’re trying to get into any mba programs. Work is getting in the way!
Ramil and I have been so busy we hardly had any time to make any progress on our wedding preparations. I’ve been so busy because I was changing jobs. I’m starting on my new job this coming Monday and I know I’m gonna be more busy the next few months. I haven’t obsessed or thought much about wedding preps either. Hopefully, after getting adjusted in my new job in a few weeks time, Ramil and I can go back to the nitty-gritty of wedding preparations.

Hay, my w@w unread mails reached 600! Sorry mga ka-w@wies, I did some mass deletion. So expect little internet activity from me for the next few weeks. Work nga naman, istorbo! :)

Our precious…

Yes, we’ve found our preciousssss…… and the journey was a long and tiring one. HEHEHE!

It all started when Ramil and I looked at wedding rings in Glorieta. I saw a ring that appealed to me, it was a two-tone wedding ring with a diamond in the center. I really, really liked it and the girl in the shop was willing to give it for 50% discount. I could tell though that Ramil didn’t like it very much. Well, I must admit, the design was too girly-girly… :)

Though he didn’t say anything about not liking it, I dragged him to more jewelry shops in SM North in my desire to find a wedding ring that we both really like. We went to Naomi jewelry shop and there we found it, a rose gold matte band with diamonds around it. The color was so unusual, it was unlike most rings that we saw. Finally, a design we both really like!

So the next day, I dragged him yet again, this time to Ongpin… to see if we can find something like it there. We walked the whole length of Ongpin and we weren’t able to see any shop with a ring made totally out of rose gold. Proof that yes, our design is unusual.

Although, we found a shop willing to make one for us, the quotation they gave us was only 2k cheaper than what we found in Naomi. So for the convenience of it, we decided to forgo the 2k difference, went to Naomi (again!), and made the downpayment!

We’re so excited! Ramil wants to wear it immediately when we finally get the rings (they’re gonna make a new one for us). Had to burst his bubble and tell him to wait until the wedding, haha!. I’m so happy because we found a design we both love!
