I love weekends. We used to visit our parents in Quezon City during the weekends and it provides a break for Ramil and me. Lately though, we’ve taken to staying in our house to cut down on our gas expenses. We never realized that it will also be just as fun and relaxing. It’s still a break even though there are no grannies to take over Mateo. Most of the time, I take the opportunity to clean the house. Yes it’s a chore but a relaxing chore for me if I take it in stride. There’s nothing like the feeling of peace after seeing how clean our house is. Rugs and floor mops don’t stress me out. Instead, they provide me with an activity that could help me relieve stress. Of course, we also do a lot of lounging around and doing nothing during weekends. I just hope weekends like these spill over until the schoolyear starts.

summer transformation
I’ve always been amazed at how the school transforms into a boisterous and rambunctious venue during most of the school year from an almost gloomy and dusty place during summer. I’m just pointing it out now because I had a chance to look around the school again this afternoon.
Devoid of teachers because of the summer break, even the faculty lounge now seems so forgotten. Dust has started to settle on the bookshelves. Some of the computers are also starting to adorn cobwebs while most of the CAT6 cables lie scattered on the floor. It almost seems like a vivid testament of the chaos and panic that happened before the school year ended.
And yet, all these will re-organized, restructured and cleaned again once the bell signals the start of the next school year. From a gloomy place, the faculty lounge will once again be filled with voices of teachers pouring out their frustrations over coffee or sharing funny stories of mishaps and bloopers.
It’s an amazing transformation, but I guess that’s just how it is for any school! Oh well! It’s just another one of those things I would never expect from the corporate world!
techie gift for my geeky hubby
Ramil’s birthday, as I’ve mentioned before, is already coming up and I still haven’t gotten him a gift. That’s because he just wouldn’t say what he would like to get for his birthday. Stubborn man!
It’s a good thing though that I’m more stubborn than he is. Because after much prodding and negotiation I was able to get a hint of what he’s been wanting to do for a long time – that is to upgrade his laptop. You see, in one of our discussions, he mentioned something about wanting to save up for a higher computer memory. And also, I’ve seen him hovering around ebay lately looking for some good deals on memory modules. It figures – a techie gift for my geeky hubby!
Now I know what to get him. The only problem now is figuring out the details about the computer memory that he’s looking for. Good luck with that!
let those fingers earn
Ever since my blog’s pagerank went down to 0, I have been looking for more ways to earn. I recently discovered ClixSense.com! With this site, all you have to do is to click ads and look at those ads for a minimum of 30 seconds. They pay you for every ad that you click and view. I already signed up with them and I already tried it. Although I’ve only gotten $0.03 so far, it’s still money and all I have to do is click. Hehe! Users can upgrade to a premium account, which gives you access to more ads to click. Upgrade fee is only $10. For those looking for more ways to earn, click here.
gift for the hubby
As I’ve mentioned in my previous post, I was supposed to give Ramil a bottle of perfume for his birthday. Now that he’s told me that he want something else, I can’t help but try to come up with another idea on my own. Although he has several ideas on his mind already, I’ve also thought of giving him some men’s jewelry. I just know he’s going to laugh when he learns about this. My husband in not into such stuff, he’d prefer some techie stuff. Nevertheless, it’s still something that I plan to give him in the future, when I get some extra money for it.
multiply shopping
The past few days, I’ve been a regular visitor of several multiply accounts. At first, my goal was to look for a birthday gift for my dear husband. I planned on giving him a new bottle of his usual perfume and there are some multiply sites who sell authentic perfumes at almost half the price in malls. Unfortunately, my low EQ prevailed. I told Ramil what I planned to give him and he requested something else which he has yet to decide.
After a few days, I found another reason to shop through multiply. We will be attending a wedding this April and since the invitation said strictly formal, I wanted to wear a long dress instead of my usual short dresses. So made my first multiply purchase last Monday. I paid for it yesterday and I’m expecting the dress to arrive today.
All my online window-shopping has made me think of starting my on multiply seller account. My sister and I could make a profit selling some stuff we don’t use anymore. Some are even brand-new and never worn. Upon learning about it, my sister asked if there’s designer jewelry available. She into jewelry and accessories lately. We’re looking into it closely. Hopefully, we get to make more money online!
our plans for our millions
Ramil and I would sometimes try our luck with the lottery. Most of the time, we’d get enticed whenever the prize money is really big already. Just a few weeks ago, we decided to try our luck on a 200 million prize. It was funny that we were already planning what to do with our millions even though we haven’t really won yet.
We’ve already decided to spend 10% of it for the three of us (Ramil, Mateo, and me), 10% for our families, relatives, and friends, and 80% for charitable causes. Ramil was hesitant to agree at first until I pointed out to him that 10% of 200 million is 20 million! We already knew what we wanted for our 20 million, a new car, our own house, and a business of our own. It was as simple and straightforward as that so we didn’t really spend that much time talking about it. What provided a good conversation for us was the 80% of our imaginary prize money. We got so excited thinking about different causes we’d like to do.
Being teachers, the first thing we came up with was a scholarship fund. We are inclined towards anything to help improve education and to help children have access to good education. We could even donate car to Car Angel, a non-profit company that uses car and other donations to make videos for kids and teens.
Since we’re both nature-lovers and Ramil is a biologists, we’ve also thought of donating to WWF or Haribon. Children with terminal illnesses came next in our list. Those were the items on our top 3. Ramil and I have discussed other causes which I have forgotten already. LOL.
Our conversation ended with both of us really excited about the 80%, the 10% seemed so trivial compared to what the 80% stands for. The next day, the winner for the lottery was drawn. We won’t be getting our 10%. I just hope whoever won (somebody did) would allot a part of the winnings to his or her own charitable causes.
a girl’s investment
My mom is the type of woman who loved jewelries. She has an assortment of them: gold, silver, different gemstones, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings, and anklets. I remember that when I was younger, I would excitedly look on whenever she’d open her jewelry box and get ready to go out. She’s given me a few pieces as I grew older and I am actually excited to start my own jewelry collection if only I have the money. Sometimes, she’s check out the current gold price because she’d sometimes sell a few gold items of hers that she doesn’t use anymore. She thinks that her jewelries are actually her investments and she likes earning from them from time to time especially if she has several ‘extras’.
up against a wall
This is how I would want hackers and viruses to be. So I guess I need a good computer security software like ESET smart security. With the amount of time we spend hooked up to the internet, having strong internet security is a must. Not to mention the security that we need whenever we connect our laptop to a network. There have been times when after using our laptop to connect to the school’s network, we have had to clean up some files because of viruses. Also, while connected to the school network, we wouldn’t want just about anyone to have access to our files. Nowadays, it’s better to be safe than sorry and prevention is always better than cure.
need therapy?
My mom has had a problem with her legs and hips for the longest time. She finds it difficult to walk for long periods of time and there are days when her leg would really hurt. Since she has a problem with her hip joint, she’d easily tire and get sore muscles. That’s why whenever we go out, our family always had to take shorter routes if we’re walking or take a lot of breaks. I’ve found out about Light Relief Light Therapy, a small gadget that claims to soothe sore muscles and joints. It emits energy in the infrared spectrum and what’s good is that it comes with a money-back guarantee. The gadget looks like a computer mouse and provides topical heating. I hope my mom could get to try this gadget. Hopefully, it does wonders for her too.
