Mateo and Ledi

Mateo loves playing with our golden retriever Ledi. My sister would often joke that Mateo likes to bully Ledi because he’d play rough with him. Although we want him to grow up with a fondness for animals, we don’t want him to get too close to them. We’re worried that he might think he can be as playful with all dogs. Good thing that golden retrievers are such gentle creatures.

with hs friends

Ramil and I had dinner with a few high school friends last December 27. We all met up in Eastwood City and had a really long dinner at Serye. It wasn’t the food nor the eating that made our dinner long. Rather, it was the good fun and conversation that usually accompany these kinds of meet-ups. As expected, we had the noisiest table inside the restaurant and we continued our kulitan in Starbucks where we had coffee afterwards. Ramil and I went home by 1:30 am. We were tired and we missed our baby but we had good, quality time with our old friends.

The day before Christmas, my sister, Ramil, Mateo and I went to Starbucks to have some frap. Mateo slept in one of the couches for most of our time there and upon waking up, got mildly interested in the Starbucks Bearistas for sale. Good thing he’s not yet in the ‘mama-buy-me’ stage :p

Upon going back home, he got started on one of his gifts already.

He enjoyed the wrappers more than the gifts themselves, LOL. It’s his first Christmas and it makes me more excited for next year when he’ll surely appreciate the season more. He made everyone’s Christmas in my family so much more special and meaningful this year.

Tagaytay Country Hotel

December 22, 2007 is the wedding of a friend in Tagaytay. Ramil and I were part of the coordination team and we were both tired when everything ended at around 4 pm. Hence, no pictures from the wedding. Hehe! We planned on staying over for the night somewhere in Tagaytay. After trying around 10 hotels/inns, we were ready to just go back home to Manila. Upon turning to Aguinaldo Hi-way from the Tagaytay Rotonda, we found a nice hotel hidden a few meters from the street, Tagaytay Country Hotel.

Since we were both struggling to stay awake despite having coffee at Starbucks, we decided to get a room for the night. The hotel is really small but most of our requirements were met: a nice bed and a clean bathroom. Since the room isn’t really cheap, we told ourselves it’s supposed to be our anniversary celebration anyway. We both had a much-needed undisturbed (by Mateo) 8+-hour sleep. Definitely a first since I gave birth! LOL. We woke up early and in a hurry to go home to our baby boy.

Below are some more pictures we took while waiting for our breakfast (included in the room rate).

gift cards

christmas wrappers

Ramil, Cat, Mateo, and I all went to the tiangge in Ynares Center to buy some Christmas wrappers. I forgot to buy some when Ramil and I did our Christmas shopping and I didn’t want to buy expensive wrappers in the mall. We were able to buy the wrappers above for five pesos each while the gift cards are a peso each. I immediately wrapped all the presents after putting Mateo to sleep last night.

Today is actually our 2nd wedding anniversary. Nothing much happened, Ramil went to school in the morning whereas I also went later in the afternoon. After school, we brought my dad’s car to a nearby gas service station and spent more than an hour there while the mechanic changed the brake pads and aligned the wheels. So much for a wedding anniversary, huh? Nevertheless, our little one makes everyday a celebration with his antics.

Hopefully, we get to have some kind of celebration this coming weekend.
